This themed collection is a little different from my usual style, subject and palette. In the current geopolitical chaos and war, I feel strongly about using my art to add comment and invite the viewer to question and discuss. Why the circus? Politicians and reporters have long substituted the circus ring for the political arena; suggesting a chaotic, theatrical or disorganised setting. The circus metaphor is usually aiming to undermine their opponents by characterising political figures as clowns; implying incompetence, disarray, uncivilised behaviour or outright farce!
